To this end, we as a board of trustees had a choice
to sit back and let development over take our way of life or manage
it in the form of a new Zoning Book and Map, we choose the latter
about 2 years ago. Effective May 26th 2004 when the board of
Trustees all approved the new zoning book and map a new chapter in
Brimfield future was written. This new book and map is the first new
zoning book since 1960. Brimfield has changed much since 1960 and to
be still shackled to zoning from 1960’s would have left us all
scratching our heads and asking why we didn’t think of this option
sooner.
On the ever evolving development front of the
township, 4 major projects are ready to explode into the Brimfield
landscape. We as a business community must not fear them, but be
thankful for their coming. It is a fact each new business generates
more for the township and school system than one would believe, it
would take many homes to generate what one business can contribute
to a community. It is a fact, the more revenue a township receives
the less we have to keep going back to the voters in the form of
levy’s to provide the service we provide and to a degree are
expected from us. Community Center and Library, plans are coming around nicely. I can’t name any names as of yet but a contributor has stepped forward to buy the naming rights to the library. For those of you interested we still have the community Building, and community room naming rights available, for any interested parties please contact me at Town Hall or Mike’s Place. I would love to talk to any of you and explain the concept and the project. When plans and artist renderings are complete I would like to have the opportunity to come explain the project and its financing to any interested group, just give me a call, or arrange a meeting with me through our township secretary Carol Nelson, who by the way planned the nice Memorial day service and parade. A quick note, a Brimfest parade is being planned, stay tuned for the details. All summer is upon us, have a safe and happy one.
